From sensor to screen.

Shaku Labs builds websites, apps and smart monitoring tools for small businesses, then keeps improving them every month.

Based in Melbourne. Working with businesses across Australia and overseas.

Three things, done properly.

Start with one, add the others when they make sense. Each is built by an engineer who has worked across hardware, manufacturing and software.

Build and improve

Websites, web and mobile apps, and internal tools, kept up to date with a monthly improvement plan.

  • Business websites that are fast and easy to update
  • Booking, ordering and customer apps
  • Internal tools and dashboards that replace spreadsheets
  • Android apps

Monitor

Sensors, live dashboards and phone alerts, so you know what’s happening when you’re not there.

  • Fridge and cold-room temperatures, with logs ready for inspections
  • Machine run time and downtime for workshops
  • Soil and greenhouse conditions for growers

Automate

Practical AI and automation that take repetitive work off your plate.

  • Reading invoices and forms into your systems
  • Reports that write themselves each week
  • Assistants that answer common customer questions
How each service works

Launch is the start, not the finish.

Websites and apps work best when they keep improving. Every project can continue with a monthly plan, so small fixes and new ideas don’t wait for a big rebuild.

  1. 1

    A short call

We talk through what you need, and I tell you honestly whether I’m the right fit.

  2. 2

    A written quote

Scope, price and timeline agreed in writing before any work starts.

  3. 3

    Build and launch

You see progress as it happens, and nothing goes live until you’re happy with it.

  4. 4

    Monthly improvements

A set amount of improvement work each month, planned together on a shared board you can check at any time.

Our own apps.

Shaku Labs also makes small, focused Android apps. They’re where new ideas get tried first, and they show the care that goes into client work.

A bilingual website for a Sri Lankan publisher sharing Buddhist teachings through books, spoken-poetry videos and audiobooks. Every page works in both Sinhala and English, so readers can switch language without losing their place.

You work directly with the engineer who builds it.

Shaku Labs is run by Udana Jayasekara, an engineer with degrees in mechatronics, manufacturing and information technology from RMIT. Before software, he designed circuit boards and firmware that shipped to real customers, which is why Shaku Labs is comfortable on both sides of the sensor.
